Glenn Frey – Strange Weather !!!

The best solo album of Glenn Frey …. Strange Weather!!! My personal opinion!
My favorite tracks: “Brave New World”, “Strange Weather”, “I’ve Got Mine”, “River of Dreams”, “Long Hot Summer”, “Love in the 21st Century” and “Part of Me, Part of You” (Thelma and Louise soundtrack).

After the fantastic album “Soul Searchin'” (1988), Glenn has released a new “solo” album that I consider his masterpiece.

The Boys of Summer” is a song released in 1984 (“Building the Perfect Beast” album) by former Eagles vocalist and drummer Don Henley.
With Steve Porcaro (Toto ….+) synthesizer, Mike Campell (Heartbreakers ….+) Guitars – Synthesizer – percussion, Danny “Kootch” Kortchmar (Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Don Henley ….+) Synthesizer guitar and Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell ….+) – Bass.
Lyrics written by Henley and music composed by Henley and Mike Campbell.
Producer: Don Henley, Danny Kortchmar, Greg Ladanyi and Mike Campbell.

A little voice inside my head said,
“Don’t look back. You can never look back.”
I thought I knew what love was,
what did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but

Beautiful Song …. Great Album …. Fantastic Summer !!!!

Maybe I’m Amazed – Versions and discussions

Some days ago I was exchanging opinions regarding the best version of “Maybe I’m Amazed” with my dear friends Marino Andreolassi and Massimo Curcio, both keen about music. Personally I love the original “album version”, but I have do admit that there are a couple of live versions that are the end of the world and are therefore fabulous, although in a different way. I’m referring to “Wings Over America” and more precisely “Rockshow” DVD with a wonderfully remastered audio (but damned partial) and available within the box “The McCartney Years”.
After having commonly confirmed the historic/executive value of the original album version, of the combination of the historic background and the fact that Paul plays all the instruments, we agreed that the original remains unequalled!!! According to me, especially the remastered version in “High Resolution 24 bit 96 kHz” available in download when buying the 2011 Box “Paul McCartney Archive Collection”. A package of pure beauty …… in any sense (sight, hearing, touch, sense of smell and …… a lot of “taste”).
I stated my point of view regarding the version taken from “Rockshow” dated 1976 and recorded during the tour “Wings Over America” where Paul proposes again the songs by the Beatles for the first time after their break-up. I reconfirm it is for me the best of all …… live versions!!!!! There is a unique feeling and the band plays fantastically. “Live in Red Square” (05) comes after where the band is technically superior, but there is less feeling, then “One Hand Clapping” (Abbey Road Studios 74) not perfect at audio level, but with interesting historic contents and, as closing, “Tripping The Live Fantastic” (90) where the recording is not fantastic, with audio equalizations that are not at their top and Paul’s voice badly filtered. I do not evaluate the version of “The Space Within Us” as I do not consider it at the same level as the others.
If you’d like to make your own comments ……… or if I actually lost any other valued version …….. 😉
Good ….. Quality …. Music
